Soft mattresses. Soft mattresses can be categorized as simply soft or ultra-soft. The ultra-soft futon mattress is made of many layers and cushions the body really well. The Fusion Velotec futon mattress is a great example of one that is ultra-soft. This mattress has a 6 inch foam core and has a number of foam layers that create the ultra-soft feeling. The soft futon mattresses do not have as much cushion, but are still very soft with lots of layers and soft foam. If you sit on these, you will definitely sink a bit lower. The firmness of a memory foam mattress is used in defining comfort. A memory foam mattress can be firm to supple. This is another thing that a spring mattress does not have. A spring mattress does not react to the heat of the users body. When it comes to maintenance, a spring mattress has to be rotated once in a while, preferably once every three months. This is done to even the wear and it is important that you avoid bending or folding the mattress. With a memory foam mattress on the other hand, you do not have to flip it over or rotate it: it virtually requires no maintenance.

Organic wool is one of the most beneficial materials used in a natural mattress. It is hypoallergenic and dust mite resistant. This aids in the reduction of allergens in the air. It is also naturally flame resistant and complies with the 2007 ruling, requiring that all mattresses sold in the United States be fire retardant. This fabric also helps to relieve pressure points, while you sleep, reducing the frequency in which you toss and turn. It is a natural insulator of both heat and cold, which aids in keeping your body temperature at a comfortable level. For those living in extremely humid climates, a natural mattress offers a higher level of comfort because the wool contently absorbs moisture. This reduces the chance of waking up on damp bed linens. Some organic mattresses are made with latex foam, similar to memory foam. These are the perfect choice for light sleepers who tend to wake up easily when their sleep partner moves.
Before shopping for a mattress you need to arm yourself with pertinent information. First determine what type of bed is best for you. Do you like soft or hard beds? Would you prefer a standard mattress or a foam mattress? If you are not sure, go try out a few different mattress types. Second, consider your budget. This is not a purchase you want to scrimp on, as a poor nights sleep can affect your whole day. Try to get as much value as you can for your budget. Finally, size is a very important factor especially if there is more than one person sleeping in the bed. Ideally, you should both be able to lie on the bed with your arms behind your heads and not touch. A bed needs to be 10-15 cm longer than the tallest person sleeping in that bed. Also pay attention to the height. Lower beds can be easy to get into but harder to get out of. High beds can be hard to get into, especially for shorter people, but very easy to hop out of in the morning.
